I never met Leslie Harpold, didn’t know her well at all, and I have to admit it’s been a number of years since I even thought about visiting her website. But I’m nonetheless deeply shocked to learn of her recent and unexpected death. I was sort of honored when she used a couple of the photographs I sent her back in 2002 as writing prompts. She created stories with them that were odder and more interesting than anything I’d expected.
