This post from Spyderella makes me a little glad I’ve never worked in an office with a Hawaiian shirt day policy. I didn’t even know offices in the real world still did that sort of thing. I just assumed it went out of fashion, along with wearing lampshades on your head or making photocopies of your ass at company Christmas parties, and that nowadays it only happened in silly movies*. Go figure.

Of course, for me, that begs the question: what do Hawaiian office workers wear on Hawaiian shirt day?

* Generik, for whom almost every day is Hawaiian shirt day, is of course exempt from this. And, of course, I did skip this year’s company holiday party. So for all I know, it could have been wall-to-wall lampshades and Xerox machines.
