“It seems to me that a lot of people think that fiction doesn’t exist; that it’s really veiled litanies of personal trauma with the names changed, and that if you poke at the author long enough or in just the right way, they’ll tell you the real story about the tragic experiences of their life.” – Nalo Hopkinson

So that prequel of The Thing I mentioned some time back is now apparently a remake. This at least makes more sense. Ronald D. Moore, of the Battlestar Galactica is now on to write the script:

The producers said they consider the new film to be more “a companion piece” to the Carpenter film than a note-for-note remake.

Meaning, I suppose, that it will probably suck on its own merits, rather than on its faithfulness to the original (which was itself a remake).

So here we are again:

  1. “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” by Bob Dylan
    Where I’m bound, I can’t tell
  2. “The Last Worthless Evening” by Don Henley, guessed by Betty
It’s been over two years for me
  3. “God” by Tori Amos, guessed by Thud
Tell me you’re crazy, maybe then I’ll understand
  4. “The Great Gig in the Sky” by Pink Floyd, guessed by marisa
I never said I was frightened of dying
  5. “Get a Grip” by Aerosmith
I can’t explain how to be a fat city
  6. “Middle of the Road” by the Pretenders
The babies just come with the scenery
  7. “Great Life” by Goatboy
Oh, that music in my head!
  8. “Believe It Or Not” (theme from The Greatest American Hero) by Joey Scarbury, guessed by Wormbrain
Believe it or not it’s just me
  9. I know your boundaries
  10. “Get Back” by the Beatles
All the girls around her say she’s got it coming

Is there anybody out there who doesn’t know how this works? Last week’s answers are here. And this week — just for Sharon — nary a No Doubt song in the bunch!

Good luck!
