“It seems to me that a lot of people think that fiction doesn’t exist; that it’s really veiled litanies of personal trauma with the names changed, and that if you poke at the author long enough or in just the right way, they’ll tell you the real story about the tragic experiences of their life.” – Nalo Hopkinson

So that prequel of The Thing I mentioned some time back is now apparently a remake. This at least makes more sense. Ronald D. Moore, of the Battlestar Galactica is now on to write the script:
The producers said they consider the new film to be more “a companion piece” to the Carpenter film than a note-for-note remake.
Meaning, I suppose, that it will probably suck on its own merits, rather than on its faithfulness to the original (which was itself a remake).
“Working for Britain’s real MI6 spy agency is not quite like being James Bond…” (Via Cinematical.)
This just in: Star Wars? Almost nothing like NASA’s real space program.
I created a MySpace page the other day to help promote Kaleidotrope, maybe generate some word-of-mouth and submissions for my second issue, coming in April.
Man, MySpace really sort of sucks, doesn’t it?

Is there anybody out there who doesn’t know how this works? Last week’s answers are here. And this week — just for Sharon — nary a No Doubt song in the bunch!
Good luck!
