Here are last week’s. As always, good luck!
#8 is “somewhere over the rainbow,” probably by Judy Garland. Or MC5.
#9 — I haven’t a clue about the artist, but that’s the theme from WKRP.
It’s the Garland version. And I had no idea who sang the WKRP theme either, but Wikipedia claims it was performed by Steve Carlisle. They also claim it charted back in 1981, which is a little remarkable for a song that’s all of 44 seconds long.
Well, as you might expect, the WKRP theme was originally more than 44 seconds long. I actually remember hearing it on the radio at the time. Geez, how old does that make me?
#1 would be “Put a Lid On It” by the Squirrel Nut Zippers, perhaps? And I can hear the song in my head for number 5, but I can’t think of the title or the artist – so I guess I’ll be working on that one for the week.
You’re right on #1, and I think I can say with some certainty that you’ve heard #5 before.
4 is an Offspring song, I think, but the title’s escaping me at the moment
3 And I want to say this one is the Super Bowl Shuffle???
#4 is Offspring. For a band I pretty much don’t listen to anymore, they come up an awful lot in my iPod shuffle.
And speaking of shuffle…yes, #3 is the Superbowl Shuffle by da Bears.
