Men With Brooms almost — almost — made me care about curling, but no, I still just don’t get it. Maybe if I was Canadian; maybe if it was a better movie and did a better job of even attempting to explain the sport. But, really, it just seems like a lot of fairly decent actors trapped in some lame and obvious writing. There are amusing moments, but not enough of them. I think, having recently watched for the first time the first two seasons of Slings and Arrows (and before that, re-watched the pilot episode of Due South, I was expecting more from star (and director) Paul Gross. But ultimately this movie was a disappointment.

And it didn’t do a damn thing to make me care about curling.
