Well, at least it appears to only be in the Los Angeles area:
Boy Scouts in the Los Angeles area will now be able to earn a merit patch for learning about the evils of downloading pirated movies and music.

Not only does it sound like ridiculous propaganda, the merit badge itself sounds pretty lame and too easy to complete.
So, um, despite my best intentions, subscribers and reviewers may be getting issues of Kaleidotrope before everybody else, including contributors. I think I can still guarantee that the rest will be mailed out before the end of October (i.e. next weekend), but until then…um, sorry.
