Monday, 11 PM — Go to bed, setting alarm clock for 6 AM. Think, ha! By going to bed a little earlier than usual, I will allow myself to wake up earlier! I will accomplish much tomorrow!

Tuesday, 6 AM — Wake up. Much too early. Reset alarm clock for 7 AM. Go back to sleep.

Tuesday, 7:58 AM — Wake up. Stare at alarm clock. Confusion. Surprise. Panic.

Tuesday, 7:59 AM — Race to shower. Try to do math in head. Train station: five minutes away. Train: arriving in fifteen minutes. Huh.

Tuesday, 8:10 AM — Think, yeah…probably not going to make it. Think, probably going to be late for work. Think about getting a new alarm clock. Happen to glance at clock on VCR across the room. Clock says 7:10 AM.

Tuesday, 8:11 AM — Still processing.

Tuesday, 7:11 AM — Check cell phone, confirm time. Alarm clock is not evil (well, not more so than usual). Alarm clock time has been reset. Most likely by sleepy man refusing to wake up at 6 AM.

Tuesday, 7:12 AM — Walk to train station for 7:20 train.

Tuesday, 8:20 AM — Arrive at office.

Tuesday, 11 PM — Set alarm clock for 5 am…?
