Know the song and artist the above lyrics come from? Then say so in the comments. Win the undying love and respect of the unwashed masses (or a not at all near facsimilie).

I’m not posting the answers to last week’s lyrics just yet, since at least seven of them still remain. However, I did finally re-discover that #2 from way back on April 28 was “Around It” by Jen Trynin.

And if you’re really looking for more lyrics to guess and just can’t wait until Friday, Kim has a new blog and she’s posting her lyrics every Wednesday.

As always, best of luck!

Well, good news if a second X-Files movie ever does get off the ground — it won’t deal with the show mythology that eventually all but* ruined the series:

“No, we’re not going into the mythology [in the sequel],” Spotnitz said. “One of the things that was exciting about doing it is to not make it a mythology story, and it’s like one of the stand-alone episodes. It’s a bit scary. Of course, we will catch up with the characters and what is going on in their lives, but it’s not about the alien conspiracy. It’s not about that.”

From Sci-Fi Wire.

I find something else Spotnitz says quite interesting:

“David, Gillian and I, and even Chris Carter, all have deals in place, and once the legal issues are over with, we will go on with it,” Spotnitz said. “I’m hoping it will get resolved soon.”

It’s that “even Chris Carter” business. As if Spotnitz had to wait for the interviewer to stop laughing and then add, “No, no, really. Even Chris Carter has a deal in place.” I mean, I know the man hasn’t produced anything lately, but still.

I’m being generous here. Season 9 of The X-Files was just painful to watch. Though watch I did.

More from MS Word’s only-vaguely-familiar-with-this-whole-grammar-thing grammar check:

The title “Professor & Chair” appears at the top of a letter I’m preparing. Word says this is wrong. There should be a second, extra space between “Professor” and the ampersand. I’m not sure why Word thinks this — it’s clearly wrong — but okay, I change it.

Now that’s wrong. Word says there should only be one space between them. Change it back…wrong again.

The Sci-Fi Wire reports that Fox has pulled the plug on the upcoming science fiction comedy, Used Guys:

The studio issued a statement saying the movie’s “futuristic settings” wouldn’t be ready in time for the scheduled June start date.

I find it amusing that they shut down because the future wouldn’t be ready in time.
