From Mother Jones, Intellectual Property Run Amok:

FOR INCLUDING a 60-second piece of silence on their album, the Planets were threatened with a lawsuit by the estate of composer John Cage, which said they’d ripped off his silent work 4’33”. The Planets countered that the estate failed to specify which 60 of the 273 seconds in Cage’s piece had been pilfered.

It’s tough to tell if these all qualify as “amok,” without knowing the details of each case, but some are amusing and/or disturbing.

Speaking of the search referrers, as long-time readers will know, one of the more popular ones around here was “Steve Guttenberg naked photos,” or some variation thereof. (No, I don’t have any. No, I don’t want any.) Well, it seems maybe the tide has turned. Now I’m getting “steve guttenburg gone and forgotten.”

Of course, he’s not. He’s been guest-appearing on Veronica Mars a few times this season.
