Oh sure, but the more interesting question is, what percentage of non-telecommuters work nude?
Month: March 2006
The headline was “Jealousy Led Bonds to Steroids, Authors Say“.
I read it as “Jealousy Led Blonds to Steroids” — which, if you ask me, is a whole lot more interesting. Especially since I read it right after glancing at this headline at Gawker: “The ‘Times’ Prefers Extinct Blonds“.
Update: Maybe they meant this: Divers discover new crustacean: Animal is covered with blond hairlike strands? (Via Cynicla-C)
Small Beer Press is having a sale!
If you’ve never read anything from Small Beer, let me recommend either of Kelly Link‘s wonderful short story collections — neither of which is actually on sale here. Hmm. — or Ray Vukcevich‘s collection, Meet Me in the Moon Room. You could also do far worse than to get a subscription to Lady Churchill’s Rosebus Wristlet. I have a copy of Maureen McHugh‘s short story collection, too, as well as a couple of their chapbooks. But I haven’t read them yet, so I can’t personally vouch for quality.
Generally speaking, they’ve got some good stuff, though.
Update: Kelly Link and Gavin Grant will be appearing this Thursday evening (March 9) at BookPeople in Austin, TX. Plenty of other interesting writers, too. Man, you kids down there get all the fun!
Mark Evanier has some thoughts to add on the whole Oscars thing, detailing why Stewart was actually quite good and why the controversy on Brokeback Mountain‘s “snub” is largely pointless. He writes:
These are the Oscars, people. They matter to agents and actors and technicians and people in the movie industry whose incomes are pegged to how many tickets or DVDs get sold. They shouldn’t matter that much to anyone else. I wish some of my friends spent less time caring about who wins Best Supporting Actor and more time worrying about who wins President of the United States of America. Personally, I think we’d be better off in both cases with Paul Giamatti.
Paul Giamatti for President? Hmm…
