Stephen Colbert may be my new favorite person:

I don’t know whether it’s a new thing, but it’s certainly a current thing, in that it doesn’t seem to matter what facts are. It used to be, everyone was entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts. But that’s not the case anymore. Facts matter not at all. Perception is everything. It’s certainty. People love the president because he’s certain of his choices as a leader, even if the facts that back him up don’t seem to exist. It’s the fact that he’s certain that is very appealing to a certain section of the country. I really feel a dichotomy in the American populace. What is important? What you want to be true, or what is true?

If you’d like to participate in my upcoming mix CD exchange and haven’t told me yet, please do so now, either by e-mail or here in the comments. (If you think you told me, but you’re not sure, it can’t hurt to do so again. If I haven’t replied to you directly, chances are I didn’t get any word.)

I’ll be sending out the final list of participants and number of CDs I need from everyone by tomorrow, hopefully.

Again, to clarify, this one will work a little differently from my recent exchanges. We’ll have multiple groups, of maybe four to six people apiece. That way, if you only want a few CDs, you can choose to be in only one group. If you want more, you can be in more groups. It’s pretty simple, despite how complicated I’m sure I’ve made it sound before. I’ll be happy to answer any questions.

If I don’t hear from you by tomorrow morning, I’m going to assume you don’t want to participate.
