Okay, if any employers to whom I applied in Austin would like to offer me a job, now would be the time to do so. I’m bringing some stuff home to New York with me this weekend, and I’m not exactly looking forward to moving the rest of it back there in July. I’m just saying. Time’s getting short.
Month: May 2004
I’m stealing this from ArtMachine, but that’s okay. Memes were made to be stolen:
On your current playlist, hit shuffle and pick the first twenty songs on the list, and write down your favorite line of the song. Then YOU people have to guess the artist and title… blah blah blah…
I have stood here before inside the pouring rain with the world turning circles running ’round my brain- Well I broke a heart over someone like you
- What I am to you is not what you mean to me
- All of these somewheres have led her to nowhere except a slow, slow song
- If you don’t have it you’re on the other side
Penguins are so sensitiveBackbeat the word was on the street that the fire in your heart is outBut you better not complain boy, you get in trouble with the manThe sun is a mass of incadescent gas, a gigantic nuclear furnaceAnd I am never broken- If the wrinkle that is in your brain has given you quite a steam your fingers have become a crane pulling on these puppet strings
- Sweet dreams are made of anything that gets you in the scene
You’re messin’ up my mind and fillin’ up my senses- Somebody might hear you calling and come to help you soon
- La peau tirée par des machines à clous
Run for the shadows, run for the shadowsNow I’m hiding in HondurasIt is the music of a people who will not be slaves againDon’t say that you love me!See the man with the lonely eyes, take his hand, you’ll be surprised
Try to answer before looking at the comments. Cheaters are lame.
Update: As you may notice, I’m crossing out the ones that have been guessed already. It’s not as if I listen to terribly obscure music of anything, y’know — as I think any of my fellow mix CD exchange participants can attest.
I kept meaning to share this, having seen it posted two or three other places already: Eric Idle’s The FCC Song. Not exactly work safe, but I can’t argue with the sentiment he expresses.
I decided to keep most of the photographs I took at last weekend’s picnic offline, since most of you won’t know the others who attended and almost every shot I took from the little rented boat looked exactly the same.
But there’s no reason I can’t also share last year’s photographs, which are already online.
No Chupacabras were harmed in the taking of these pictures.
I added some more photographs from last Thursday and this weekend, including some shots from around the lake and just around the block.
Meanwhile, this has quickly become the most popular image on my entire site, according to my stats and search referrers. Go figure.
