Neil Gaiman is right: this sets a very disturbing precedent indeed, regardless of what you think about comic books in general. A guilty verdict was secured even though the state prosecutor presented no expert witness, offered no contradictory testimony, and claimed in summation that it didn’t “care what type of evidence or what type of testimony is out there…” And, because the Supreme Court refused to hear the appeal, the same thing can now happen anywhere.

Maybe I don’t understand HTML or spam. I’m using MailWasher again, which lets me view the text of a message without actually downloading it or its images. In a message which seems to be just one in an endless parade of ads for Viagra ripoffs, I’m noticing a number of very unusual tags: things like <!bogeymen> and <!thermionic> and <!asphalt> and <!transduction>. Any clues, or am I just looking at more spammer garbage? (The message’s been deleted either way.)
