Tuesday is one of the days of the week

Today was almost certainly a Tuesday.

I started consolidating reviews on a career counseling textbook. There was a brief moment when a stress management text was, in fact, really stressing me out. I shared some comments on an animal-assisted therapy book we’ll soon move into production. But, honestly, the closest thing approaching excitement today? I bought a new pair of headphones.

It’s just these thrilling, day-to-day adventures that keep you coming back for more, I know!

  1. What kind of headphones? I’m splurgy when it comes to headphones: I like a nice pair of Sennheiser PX200 with the soundproofing thing going on. It’s just enough to block out most of the noise around me, but not enough to keep me from hearing things. And they keep my ears warm when it’s dreadfully cold.

  2. I’m much more a fan of the ear-bud variety of headphones. I was perfectly happy with a Sony pair I own, which nicely have a volume control on the cord itself, but I lost one of the ear buds, and it’s not at all comfortable wearing them without. These are Altec Lansing noise-isolating Backbeat Plus, mostly just because those seemed like the nicest and most affordable pair at the one big-box chain store I went to.

I own a really nice pair of noise-reduction Bose headphones, which were an unexpected gift, but I find them bulky and a little uncomfortable — they require batteries and come with their own case…not to mention extremely pretentious “hand these out to people who ask about your incredible headphones” courtesy cards.

I usually feel I’m good if I can still hear the train announcements (or at least that announcements are being made) but not the content of other people’s conversations.
