  1. Between Eccleston and Takei and McDowell, it’s starting to feel like a sort of science fictional Old Home Week. I honestly can’t quite decide whether that charms me or annoys me. 🙂

  2. Don’t get me wrong, I like McDowell. Just as I like Eccleston and Takei. I just feel as if — and this is different from those other two — I feel as if McDowell was just so obvious a choice that I was sort of hoping the show would go in a different direction. Granted, we haven’t seen a lot, much less the last, of Linderman, but what little we did see felt like the sort of character McDowell could probably play in his sleep.

  3. But that would mean there would be a SF series without McDowell as the protagonist, and that just can’t be.
