Mike Sterling periodically flips through the Previews catalog at work for new items in a running commentary he likes to call the “End of Civilization.” I never thought I’d actually own one of the things he cites as an example. The Face of Boe figure is either the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever bought or the coolest. And I own one of these, so that’s saying something.

Should I be worried that Sawyer’s nickname for me (“Professor”) is what my grandfather used to sometimes call me when I was a little boy?
