Neil Gaiman:

But it’s pure first draft, straight out of the head and onto the page, sort of like this blog. The important thing is moving forward, for me: editing, fixing, tidying, leaving stuff out, that’s all for when I put it onto the computer, that’s all for the second draft.

Yeah, that’s the thing I can never seem to get my brain to remember when I’m writing — that it should just be writing, not editing what I write.

Oh, and from what he describes of it, I’m sorry I decided to pass on Gaiman et al.’s panel and reading in Manhattan last night. It was actually just a few blocks from where I work, but I took the train home instead.

So apparently, there’s a new Livejournal out there called Kaleidotrope. I’m confident this is just one of life’s weird coincidences. There’s also a Kaleidotrope.com (although nothing’s there, it would seem).

Anyway, I would be remiss if I didn’t use this as a shameless opportunity to remind you that copies of the second issue of my Kaleidotrope are available for purchase, and I’m currently accepting submissions for the October 2007 issue and beyond.
