The Jim Henson Co. has set Genndy Tartakovsky to direct Power of the Dark Crystal, sequel to the 1982 fantasy film The Dark Crystal, Variety reported.

Unless I’m very much mistaken, the Dave McKean/Neil Gaiman MirrorMask came about when Henson suggested the pair collaborate on a Labyrinth sequel. It’s nice to see Henson being proactive with its titles, now that the family is back in control of the company.

Of course, it occurs to me that I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen The Dark Crystal in its entirety…
