Will people think poorly of me if I skip today’s faculty/staff meeting? Do I care? I don’t want to go, no one’s told me I have to go, and I don’t think they’ll be giving me the Employee of the Year award.

So why am I worried that skipping it might be a bad idea? Why can’t I “ditch class” without feeling guilty about it?

I’ve known for awhile that I really should wash the kitchen floor. I just didn’t expect to finally be doing it with suds leaking from my dishwasher. Hopefully I won’t soon also be telling you about how I finally ironed those dress shirts by getting my oven to explode.

Hopefully I can get my dishwasher working again.

Another software question for you unwashed masses out there:

Does anyone know of any free, easy-to-use, decent-quality DOC-to-PDF conversion software? If you sign up with Adobe, they’ll convert five documents online for you in a trial run, but after that it starts to get pricey. What I’m looking to do is convert Monty Python Society newsletters into PDF for easier download. I don’t really want to buy the Acrobat software, and I wonder if there’s anything more convenient than marching over to a computer lab on campus that already has it installed. Quality’s an issue, but free is the operative word.

Just wondering.
