I don’t know what parallel universe my Weather Pixie is living in, but it isn’t raining here. In fact, it’s been about as sunny as central Pennsylvania gets in mid-winter.
Month: January 2003
Where does the week go? Once more from the top, the Friday Five:
1. Where do you currently work? Penn State University
2. How many other jobs have you had and where? I worked at a Rite-Aid drugstore the summer after my senior year in high school. Then at a seasonal furniture/pool supplies store for the three summers after that. I worked at the campus bookstore, run by Barnes & Noble, for just over two years after I graduated from college. At the same time, I worked in this office part-time for about a year and a half before the full-time position became available.
3. What do you like best about your job? They money. Before this I was earning only about $7 an hour. It’s also less physically demanding work than the shipping and receiving department of the bookstore (which is a mixed blessing), and I have much more freedom. I also have my own office, which is nice.
4. What do you like least about your job? Being honest here could get me in trouble.
5. What is your dream job? Writer, editor, bon vivant.
Thanks to Ben, I just found out that I attended (and am now employed by) the #4 party school in the nation, according to the Princeton Review. Some things just make you burst with pride.
I didn’t plan on going out for lunch, but somebody stole my Hot Pocket from the freezer in the copy room. And then, while I was gone, somebody stole my parking space. And the only parking space left was down the road, past construction, in a lot that isn’t really a lot, about a five-minute walk in the bitter cold from my office.
Sometimes, I think the universe is conspiring against me so I’ll have crap like this to write about in my weblog.
It feels much colder than this outside. My Weather Pixie is obviously handling winter much better than I am. Thanks to Sharon for the link. |
