I often have a difficult time explaining captioning to people, even good friends. “Oh,” they usually say, “that’s nice. You spend how much time doing that?” And they smile and nod and quickly change the subject. That’s okay. I enjoy it. Which is why — if you missed Gerson’s announcement — I’ve offered some of my own photographs to be mercilessly capped.
