Song of the day

“Chim Chim Cher-ee” from Mary Poppins

I’ve been thinking lately about the odd trailer for the upcoming Saving Mr. Banks — odd because it seems to suggest meeting of the minds (and hearts) of Walt Disney and P.L. Travers, the woman who created Mary Poppins, when apparently quite the opposite was true. To her dying day she hated the film. I might be able to sympathize with that more — my natural inclination is to side with the original author — if I didn’t genuinely (and quite unashamedly) love the film version of Mary Poppins
