So, the mix exchange I first posted about way back in early May and which started, I guess, sometime in early June, has finally reached its end. Almost four months later, all the CDs have finally been mailed to all of the participants. My thanks to Sharon, Rob, Nyssa, Remi, and John. I was really pleased with the results, and I think the group put together some really great songs. I know I’ve really enjoyed listening to these CDs.
With all that in mind, I’d very much like to put together a second mix exchange. There will be no set theme other than songs you’d like to share, but there will be a one-month time limit: once all the participants are agreed upon, we’ll each have one month to deliver the CDs. I’d like to have a group set up and running by mid-to-late October, which would get everyone a box of CDs around Thanksgiving.
I’m once again willing to act as a middleman — participants can mail me CDs, and I’ll pass them along to everyone else. This should grant everyone else a little anonymity and not force you to give your home addresses out to too many complete strangers. The number of CDs you’ll have to send will, of course, depend on the number of people who are interested, but you’ll be guaranteed the same number in return, filled with new and interesting songs. (I may cut participation off at around 5-7 people, just to ensure this doesn’t become to unwieldy or expensive, since five CDs apiece seemed to be the most to which everyone was willing to commit this time around.)
If you’re interested, leave a comment here or let me know.
