Which leads me to suggest a little game: write your own “pro-war” poems and submit them to the site. And let me know if any of them are posted. This could be fun.
So I tried. I wrote:
Oh,
That Iraq-i
Smokes crack — he
Talks smack — we
Fight back — we
Attack — he
Falls back — the
French think it’s whack
But we’ve got the knack
(And Blair’s got our back)
To keep us on track
To the oil that’s black
Like Dick Cheney’s heart.
But, apparently, you’ve gotta get up pretty early in the morning to outfox those pro-war poets. “Perhaps you meant to send this to Poets Against the War?” they asked. Shucks, foiled again.
