It’s Friday, just barely. I’ll be in Maryland all weekend, visiting my sister with my parents. Most likely, you will not be. Enjoy whatever it is you’ll be doing. In the meantime, the Friday Five:
1. Did you vote in your last elections? No. I voted in 2000 (for Nader), but I didn’t re-register when I moved this August. It’s okay, though. The only candidate I knew anything about and for whom I would have voted is now our governor-elect anyway.
2. Do you know who your elected representatives are? Governor, yes. Senators or representatives? No.
3. Have you ever contacted an elected representative? If so, what was it about? I posed for pictures with a couple of town and county representatives when I became an Eagle Scout, and I once wrote (printed but never mailed) a letter (scroll down; there’s also an HTML version here) to John Lawless.
4. Have you ever participated in a demonstration? Does this count?
5. Have you ever volunteered in an election? What was the result? No, never. I’ve only ever voted in three — two presidential elections and one school board election. I’ve never volunteered.
