I was so spoiled while I was on vacation, always having a computer that, y’know, worked. It’s almost refreshing to be reminded of how much I often want to throw my office computer against the wall. It helps keep me grounded.

*tsk* What are you doing to (a) figure out why it doesn’t work well, and (b) seek remedies from your IT department?
On a guess, it probably needs more RAM. That’s the usual cause to that aggravating “click and grow old” problem.
The other most common problem is lack of knowledge or familiarity on the part of the user. I find Macs frustrating, but that’s only because none of the buttons are where I expect them to be. MS Access was bewildering until I took a class. Do you need book or website recommendations on a particular function or application that you often struggle with?
There are a number of maintenance activities that your IT department can help you with. Defragging, reimaging…
It doesn’t have to be confusing or frustrating. But it won’t take care of itself.
I dunno…throwing the computer against the wall sounds like a much more satisfying solution… 😉
