These have been accumulating for awhile, so I’m trying to spread them out across the week. Anyway, here’s my Monday linkpharm, music and video edition:
- “Motorcycle” by Rumble Strips (Flash req.) [via]
- “King Kong” by the Jimmy Castor Bunch
- “Stairway to Gilligan” by Little Roger and the Goosebumps [via]
- Radio scan of New York’s FM band on the night John Lennon was killed, December 8, 1980 [via]
- LEGO Cthulhu (Quicktime req.) [via]
- Cartoony-violent Monks vs. Vikings (Quicktime req.) [via]
- It’s Jerry Time — strangely compelling animated video diary [via]
- Parasite (Quicktime req.) — it would certainly make the morning commute more interesting, but anyone trying it probably would get shot by transit police [via]
- How it Should Have Ended — reworked movie endings [via]
- Try Progenitorovox! (Quicktime req.) [via]
- Jelly D (Quicktime req.) — terrific freestyling rapper dressed as a jelly donut (more here) [via]
- Proper sushi etiquette (Quicktime req.) — “However, in the case of 1, you should always show a little guilt with your eyes.” [via]
- Astonishing video of physical art of parkour [via]
- Animated Singing Santa Hack [via]
- A trip through cinematic history with Mortorala and a cartoon rabbit (Quicktime req.) [via]
- “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Hurra Torpedo (Windows Media req.) [via]
- “Wishful Thinking” by the Ditty Bops (Quicktime req.) [via]
- Shakespeare sonnet 130 as read by Alan Rickman (Flash req.) [via]
- “Lazy Sunday” from Saturday Night Live (Flash req.) — aka “The Chronic of Narnia Rap” — A lot of people are acting like this isn’t the second coming or something. I don’t know about that, but it’s definitely the funniest thing I’ve seen on SNL in years.
There’s a lot of good stuff in there, but my favorites are easily “Motorcycle” and “Lazy Sunday.”
