Friday

I was woken up early this morning by a barking dog who’d just been out but wanted to go again. I don’t know if this going to be a thing with him as he gets older — he’s eight going on nine — but it was a little ridiculous today. And he kept it up, apparently, after I’d left for work, barking until my mother took him outside as well. (Although he didn’t want to do anything but look around then.)

Anyway, it meant that I got to work early, which I actually kind of like. There’s almost no one in the office yet at 8 o’clock, and I can enjoy a semi-leisurely breakfast in the break room before setting down to the business of the day.

Meanwhile, it’s turned really cold again, really quickly, and I think we may have bounced straight from Indian summer to winter. I’m not complaining, necessarily, but the office can get pretty darn cold at times.
