I know lots of people are putting up Halloween decorations earlier than usual this year (like, oh, starting two or three weeks ago), but there seem to be an awful lot of these seasonal Halloween supply stores. I’m beginning to think they’re some kind of weird front for something.

I knew there was a reason I liked Samantha Morton:

There is a story Samantha Morton tells about when she was a kid going to drama club. After partnering her with another girl, the teacher said, “I’m going to whisper something to you and then you begin the improvisation.” “He whispered, ‘The other girl’s stolen your hamster.’ So I beat the crap out of this girl and they didn’t ask me back.”

It’s an interesting inteview overall. And I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone use the phrase “as mad as a box of frogs” before.

Every month of 2007, I’ve made a mix of the new or rediscovered songs I’ve been listening to. Here’s September:

  1. “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Greg Laswell
  2. “Ramble Tamble” by Creedence Clearwater Revival
  3. “The Great Song of Indifference” by Bob Geldof
  4. “Bring ‘Em Home” by Bruce Springsteen
  5. “Grace Kelly” by MIKA
  6. “Click Click Click Click” by Bishop Allen
  7. “Myriad Harbour” by the New Pornographers
  8. “Broken Arm” by Winterpills
  9. “Mudshow” by Krista Detor
  10. To the Dogs or Whoever” by Josh Ritter
  11. “Oh My God” by Pink & Peaches
  12. “White Wedding” by Whip
  13. “Running Up That Hill” by Placebo
  14. “Answer” by Sarah McLachlan

I let my self-imposed 12-song limit slide this time to fit in everything. As always, I’ll happily do a one-for-one exchange for a mix of your own.
