Wow, that’s some line-up of writers-in-residence… There’s a part of me that seriously wants to apply…even though I don’t think my writing portfolio is quite up to snuff at the moment, and I’m almost certain I couldn’t swing the entire month of July unless I quit my job, even if I did get in.

Still, it does look very cool…

I, Claudius as a big Hollywood production? Say it isn’t so. I’m quite fond of the BBC miniseries (to the point that I own a copy on DVD), and I find the idea of remake rather unsettling.

I just saw a banner ad for HP, which I’m guessing is a back-to-school promotion for their personal computers. It says, “Good parents buy. Bad parents don’t.”

I realize it’s meant as tongue-in-cheek, but seriously? You’re a bad parent if you don’t buy your kid a thousand-dollar notebook computer?
