I just want to say, right off the bat, that I thoroughly enjoyed Grindhouse. It is what it is, an homage to bad ’70s schlock, and it’s genuinely fun, even when it’s genuinely bad. But c’mon, Grindhouse 2? The first is all but dead at the box office.

Publishers Weekly interviews Warren Ellis:
PWCW: Many of the scenes in CLV [Crooked Little Vein] feature sexually explicit subject matter, including scrotal infusion and Godzilla porn. Were there any attempts by your publisher to censor or tone down the more provocative content?
WE: Absolutely none. Honestly, I think they wanted more sex. You know book people. They are all quite prodigious perverts.

We’ll return to our regularly scheduled lack of content soon enough, don’t you worry.
I feel about Spider-Man 3 basically the same way I felt about X-Men 3: it’s not a terrible movie, and there are things to like about it, but man, compared to the first two, that was sort of lousy.
Whereas Hot Fuzz, which I saw last week, was pretty terrific. And I was almost surprised by how cool the next Harry Potter movie looks.
