The downside to making getting a job a prerequisite to moving somewhere is that, should you get a job, you’re not actually there. The truth is, while I don’t necessarily have to stay here for the duration of my lease, I’d like to, and I’d prefer not to leave any sooner than late May or June. Leaving within the next month or two might be all but impossible.
The alternative is to just move somewhere, anywhere, when my lease is up and hope that a good job falls my way. There’s no guarantee of that, however, and there’s nowhere I’m desperate enough to live without something better than what I’ve got here lined up. I don’t want to move without a job, but it’s tough to get a job without being able to move right away.
That being said, I’ve been submitting resumes. And I’ve been contacted for a phone interview with a company in Austin.
