You know, I don’t expect a lot from the campus newspaper — in November, after all, they ran an article on whether or not students on campus were wearing winter coats — but these two recent articles are really a stretch, even by their standards:

Suddenly, articles I’ve written for the Monty Python Society newsletter (like Boxtopia, Penguins, and Death Be Not Proud) don’t seem half as silly.

Trying to figure out why the Monty Python Society webpage suddenly doesn’t exist (or can’t be accessed, depending on which bits you try). It doesn’t help that my campus e-mail stopped working a couple of hours ago. I was assured yesterday, however, that they are currently working on the problem.

In the meantime, if you want to read the most recent Society newsletters — hey, some of the bits are funny! — you can find them, at least temporarily, here.

Update: No sooner had I posted this than my e-mail started working again, bringing with it a message from tech support. Apparently, there was an unexpected bug in a permissions utility, and they hope to have everything fixed by the end of today.

I was going to blog about how this appeared to be mirroring my website without my permission. But then this (found through blogdex) told me how to fix the problem.

Isn’t the Internet supposed to give me more things to write about, not less?

I received a reminder today that my signed intent to renew my lease (or not) is due. I don’t necessarily want another year in this town, but I do want more than the few months left on my current lease. I want some closure with the Python Society (that would be tough to get before the end of this semester, in two or three weeks), and I want time to figure out my next move (which would be tough to arrange before the end of July, having yet to visit any of my options). If, by some miraculous turn of events, I’ve figured this all out before my renewed lease is up, I always have the option of subletting.

This doesn’t exactly feel like the right decision, but I think it’s the best one, all things considered. Now I just need to convince myself of that enough to make myself sign.
