I really should pay closer attention to things. Apparently there’s a home football game this weekend. No longer working in the center of campus, and no longer reliant on the bus to get around, I’m out of step with what’s happening in town. If my boss wasn’t teaching this semester, I might not even have known classes had started. Until about two days ago, I’d forgotten that Monday was Labor Day. Color me oblivious.

While I only read Dooce.com once or twice before she closed up shop, I have to agree with Jason Kottke: these are some of the very best wedding photographs I’ve ever seen. Whereas this (found via Metafilter, requires Quicktime) is probably the best marriage proposal. Certainly one of the most creative.
