I really should pay closer attention to things. Apparently there’s a home football game this weekend. No longer working in the center of campus, and no longer reliant on the bus to get around, I’m out of step with what’s happening in town. If my boss wasn’t teaching this semester, I might not even have known classes had started. Until about two days ago, I’d forgotten that Monday was Labor Day. Color me oblivious.

From an article in the New York Times about director Quentin Tarantino and his upcoming new film, “Kill Bill”:

Privately, some Hollywood film executives speculate that the dark experiences of a continuing war against terror will pull audiences toward rougher fare. “I mean, I just watched a dog gassed on CNN,” one Hollywood production chief said recently.”

Aw. How sweet.
