I just heard Senate Minorty Leader Trent Lott call Vice President Dick Cheney “a man of the highest integrity.” I’ll let you know when I stop laughing.
Day: July 12, 2002
Taking my cue from the lovely and talented Nyssa, allow me to share Ten Facts About Me:
- I was an English major. Ah, you’re probably thinking. That explains it!
- I was an Eagle Scout with silver palms.
- As a member of the Penn State Monty Python Society, I once wrote a song about my penis. I am much more proud of this fact than people who know me think I should be.
- I spent a number of my elementary school years in speech therapy. Apparently I had trouble with the letter s.
- I know more about pool chemicals than a man who has never owned or worked at a swimming pool should know.
- I have a great memory for meaningless details and the content of conversations many years past. It’s altogether possible that if you’ve ever told me something about yourself you didn’t think was especially important, I remember it.
- I have a pretty terrible memory for names and have trouble putting them to faces of people I’ve just met. I recognize faces, and I usually don’t forget the ones I’ve met, but I can hear someone’s name repeated for weeks before it finally sinks in and I feel confident using it.
- My favorite color is green, while my favorite season is spring.
- I cannot play the piano.
- I’m currently reading The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkein, although I haven’t actually picked it up in more than a week. I always feel like I’m not reading as much as I should, or that I should learn to read faster so that I can read more.
