Tuesday

What can you say about today that hasn’t been said about a thousand other Tuesdays?

No, seriously. If anybody knows, I’d be happy to hear it. Because from where I’m sitting, today was pretty much just par for the course.

Mondayness

The sheer Mondayness of today cannot be overstated.

I started reading the next book in the “Joe Pitt Casebooks,” Half the Blood of Brooklyn, and actually bought the last two books in the series. I’m not yet sure if I’m going to go straight ahead and just finish the series without a break, but they are entertaining (if gory and vicious) reads.

And that, really, is it. It’s the Mondayness, what can I tell ya?

Song of the day

Today’s song, although I couldn’t find a good video for it, is “Hey Sailor” by the Detroit Cobras. The song didn’t make too big of an impression on me the first time I heard it, back in 2004 when it was featured in the fifth-season Angel episode “Harm’s Way.” But I recently re-watched Angel in its entirety — something I keep thinking I should write about, even just a little, the same way I’ve been writing about re-watching Farscape — and it’s a pretty kickin’ song.

I got a song in my mind
I’ve been singing it all day
I’m gonna teach it to you tonight
Come on and answer when I say
Hey! (Hey!)
