Writing Thursday

I finished writing a story tonight, just a few minutes ago, in fact. I wasn’t too sure I was going to make it, but I barreled through, since the deadline for submission is tomorrow. I’m going to take another look at it in the morning, polish and format it, and then submit it. The anthology it’s for is specific enough that I don’t know what I could do with the story if they decide to pass on it, but that’s out of my hands. I had a good time writing it — a mad, crazy time rushing to meet the deadline, but a good time nonetheless.

It’s made me wonder anew about the 3-Day Novel Competition. Maybe working under insane pressure isn’t such a terrible thing. It got results out of me this time.

  1. I just picked up the first of those anthologies on my crazed book-buying bender yesterday. I’m really looking forward to reading it. I’d heard one or two of the stories on a podcast, and liked them.

    Good luck with your submission!

    • Thanks. I picked up the free e-book, but must admit I haven’t read any of the stories yet. Still, it’s an interesting premise, and a lot of talented people were involved.

Even if they pass on the story, though, I’m glad I finished writing and submitted it.
