"It was then that Delirium noticed that she had absentmindedly transformed herself into a hundred and eleven perfect, tiny, multicolored fish. Each fish sang a different song. And as she put herself back together again, unable for the moment to remember whether the silver flecks went in the blue eye or the green one, she decided that a dog would be a nice thing to have. And then it occurred to her that there had been a dog around at some point, hadn't there? A nice doggie. And she went off to look for it, trailing occasional fish..." - Neil Gaiman, Sandman: The Kindly Ones

A really good response last week, with all but one lyric guessed right away. Let’s see if we can get a repeat — or better — response this week:

And all that you buy, beg, borrow, or steal
  2. “Shaky Town” by Jackson Browne, guessed by Occupant
Must have played in a thousand bands
  3. “Empty Chairs” by Don McLean, guessed by Occupant
I feel the trembling tingle of a sleepless night
  4. “Pepper” by Butthole Surfers, guessed by Clayton
I don’t mind the sun sometimes, the images it shows
  5. “Girl from the North Country” by Bob Dylan, guessed by Occupant

  6. “Great DJ” by the Ting Tings”
    You gotta love the BPM
  7. “Raspberry Beret” by Prince, guessed by Clayton
He told me several times that he didn’t like my kind
  8. “Don’t Dream It’s Over” by Crowded House, guessed by Kim
My possessions are causing me suspicion but there’s no proof
  9. “The Rose” by Bette Midler, guessed by Clayton
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong
  10. “San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)” by Scott McKenzie, guessed by Betty and Clayton
There’s a whole generation with a new explanation

As always, good luck!

Damn, people got in with the Floyd ahead of me. It is “Eclipse,” by the way. Technically a different song than “Brain Damage.”

I knew #9, too. I had to memorize that song in the 6th grade for some stupid school assembly thing.

Well, I’m pretty sure #10 is “San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Some Flowers in Your Hair)”, but I’m damned if I can remember who sings it. Some hippie band. :)

If you’re correct about #10, I think the singer is Scott McKenzie.
