Rest in peace, Davy.<\/p>\n<p>I took a history of American popular music class back in college &#8212; essentially a history of rock and roll &#8212; and our text was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Rolling-Stone-Illustrated-History-Rock\/dp\/0679737286\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&#038;qid=1330566538&#038;sr=8-1\">this book from <i>Rolling Stone<\/i><\/a>. As our professor pointed out, the Monkees didn&#8217;t even earn themselves a footnote in the book. I don&#8217;t remember what Dr. Kelly thought of that exactly, but I think it&#8217;s a shame.
