It&#8217;s not, y&#8217;know, a <i>good<\/i> movie, but it&#8217;s got a genuinely creepy lead performance and some decent B-movie horror scares. <A href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/10\/02\/movies\/the-human-centipede-2-from-the-director-tom-six.html?_r=1&#038;partner=rss&#038;emc=rss\">A sequel<\/a>, though, just seems like gilding the lily&#8230;then surgically attaching it to two other gilded lilies.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m not sure saying that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bookslut.com\/blog\/archives\/2011_09.php#018164\">Arthur Conan Doyle would have preferred his first book to remain out of print<\/a> holds a lot of weight. He often said much the same thing about Sherlock Holmes.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, though, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smithsonianmag.com\/arts-culture\/The-Top-10-Books-Lost-to-Time.html?c=y&#038;page=1\">the top 10 books lost to time<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>And finally, via John Carroll, what sounds like smart advice to me: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jonathancarroll.com\/blog1\/2011\/09\/carrollblog_930_5.html\">date a girl who reads<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Georgia Considers Replacing Firefighters with Free Prison Laborers.
