It felt very much like a Thursday, and any lingering Wednesdayness about it faded as the afternoon wound on. Tomorrow, after all, is Friday.<\/p>\n<p>I did finish reading Jennifer Egan&#8217;s <i>A Visit from the Goon Squad<\/i>. I&#8217;m not entirely convinced that the late science-fictional elements that found their way into the story weren&#8217;t just a touch silly, but overall I thought it was a really lovely book, weaving in and out of different times and characters&#8217; lives, warm while also  wonderfully inventive. (There&#8217;s a chapter that&#8217;s a PowerPoint slide presentation. Which somehow managed to be one of my favorite chapters in the book.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Not a lot to say about this particular Thursday.
