I spent it mostly marking up a couple of chapters on counseling older adults, because there&#8217;s nothing like reading about dementia to get the week of to a rollicking good start!<\/p>\n<p>According to my Forgotten English desk calendar, today is not only International Women&#8217;s Day &#8212; which I guess means that <i>every<\/i> woman gets the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metro.co.uk\/metrolife\/film\/816374-oscars-2010-kathryn-bigelow-makes-history-as-first-woman-to-win-best-director-for-the-hurt-locker\">Kathryn Bigelow &#8220;I Am Woman&#8221; treatment<\/a> today? It&#8217;s also the Feast Eve of St. Gregory of Nyssa, who despite what you may be thinking was neither <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hipsoda.com\/jazz\/gallery\/cappers.php?who=Nyssa23\">a capper<\/a> nor <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nyssa_%28Doctor_Who%29\">a <i>Doctor Who<\/i> character<\/a>. Apparently, he was a fourth-century Armenia archbishop.According to the calendar, he &#8220;relates a story of a nun who forgot to say her <i>benedicte<\/i> and make the Sign of the Cross before she sat down to supper, and who in consequence swallowed a demon concealed among the leaves of a lettuce.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Which is neither here nor there, but it&#8217;s more exciting than my day, that&#8217;s for sure. I spent too much of the evening <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comedycentral.com\/sitewide\/game_player\/index.jhtml?game=266314\">playing this Comedy Central game<\/a>, and now I&#8217;m just getting ready for bed.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today, not at all unexpectedly, was very Monday-ish.
