[<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfsignal.com\/\" title=\"SF Signal\">via<\/a>]<\/li>\n<p><\/font><font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana\"> It may be time for me to revisit Bradbury&#8217;s original novel, especially in light of the man&#8217;s own <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laweekly.com\/2007-05-31\/news\/ray-bradbury-fahrenheit-451-misinterpreted\/\">sometimes puzzling pronouncements<\/a> about it in recent years. I love Ray Bradbury maybe more than any other writer, and it&#8217;s possible he&#8217;s earned his curmudgeonly ways, but it can be a lot easier to love the words than the man. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana\"><\/p>\n<li>Still, the man&#8217;s an absolute darling compared to, say, <em>Lord of the Flies<\/em> author <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/books\/2009\/aug\/16\/william-golding-attempted-rape\">William Golding<\/a> [<a href=\"http:\/\/gerrycanvan.blogspot.com\/\" title=\"Gerry Canavan\">via<\/a>]<\/li>\n<p><\/font><font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana\"><\/p>\n<li><font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana\">Dear Tom Ridge: <a href=\"http:\/\/gerrycanavan.blogspot.com\/2009\/08\/you-dont-say.html\">too damn little, too damn late<\/a>. I didn&#8217;t even like you all that much when you were my governor. <\/font><\/li>\n<p><\/font> <font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana\"><\/p>\n<li>And finally, John Scalzi has been getting some flack in certain circles for his write-up of <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.amctv.com\/scifi-scanner\/2009\/08\/bad-designs-in-star-wars.php\">design flaws in the <em>Star Wars<\/em> universe<\/a>, but the man isn&#8217;t wrong. (Even the six-year-old me, who can&#8217;t help but pester, &#8220;Well, maybe the Sarlaac isn&#8217;t <em>native<\/em> to Tatooine,&#8221; has to accept that.)<\/li>\n<p><\/font><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Need a little extra bees and honey in your sky rocket?
