Think j-horror, mixed with existential ennui, mixed with weird cultural dissonance. I think <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avclub.com\/articles\/cure,20380\/\">Scott Tobias says it best<\/a> when he calls it &#8220;unsettling and deeply enigmatic.&#8221; Ultimately, I think I prefer the director&#8217;s <i>Kairo<\/i> (or <i>Pulse<\/i>) better &#8212; even though that, too, was deeply enigmatic. Yet, while it&#8217;s a film that doesn&#8217;t lend itself to clear understanding, it&#8217;s not one I&#8217;ll soon forget.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last night, I watched Cure, and I can&#8217;t pretend I completely understood it.
