Such foolishness&#8230; what? Not true? <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.discovermagazine.com\/badastronomy\/2008\/10\/08\/mccains-planetariophobia\/\">Somebody should tell John McCain<\/a>.<br \/>\n<blockquote><p>Well, shock of shocks \u00e2\u20ac\u201d it turns out McCain\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s characterization of this was all wrong. In fact, I would call it a lie. He knows it wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t for an overhead projector, a piece of classroom equipment that costs a couple of hundred dollars. That money was for Adler\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Zeiss Mark VI star projector: a venerable piece of precision fabricated equipment that projects the stars, constellations, and other objects inside the planetarium dome. Adler\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Zeiss is 40 years old, and desperately needs replacing. These machines are pricey, and replacing them difficult.<\/p>\n<p>Adler needed money to do this. They asked local politicians, and eventually were able to get a request in a budget submitted by Obama. However, Obama never even voted on that budget, and Adler never got that money \u00e2\u20ac\u201d thus making, again, McCain a liar.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\">Via <a href=\"http:\/\/gerrycanavan.blogspot.com\/\">Gerry Canavan<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cynical-c.com\/\">Cynical-C<\/a>, respectively. <\/font><\/li>\n<p><\/font><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><\/p>\n<li>On the whole ridiculous <a href=\"http:\/\/voices.washingtonpost.com\/thefix\/2008\/10\/the_problem_with_the_ayers_att.html#more\">Bill Ayers thing<\/a> &#8212; namely the idea that Obama has some kind of dangerous relationship with the man and will, I dunno, destroy America or something &#8212; or that he&#8217;s lied to America about that relationship, despite his being completely candid about the whole thing on many occasions &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/areasofmyexpertise.blogspot.com\/2008\/10\/smears.html\">John Hodgman<\/a> rightly points out that &#8220;McCain\/Palin are essentially attacking Obama with BLOG COMMENTS.&#8221;<\/li>\n<p><\/font><\/font><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><\/p>\n<li>We could look at any domestic terrorists who were active when <em>John McCain<\/em> was eight, but I think the dinosaurs ate them all. Just ask <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drawger.com\/zinasaunders\/?section=comments&amp;article_id=6181\">Sarah Palin<\/a> if you don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s possible!<\/li>\n<p><\/font><\/font><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><\/p>\n<li>You know, at the end of the day, if that&#8217;s even what John McCain still is, do we really <em>want<\/em> a maverick in the White House?<\/li>\n<p><\/font><\/font><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><\/p>\n<li>Huh. Ralph Nader <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsfromme.com\/archives\/2008_10_09.html#016001\">is still running for President<\/a>? Fool me once, Ralph&#8230; Yeah, I voted for Nader in 2000. Um, sorry &#8217;bout that.<\/li>\n<p><\/font><\/font><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><font face=\"Verdana\" size=\"2\"><\/p>\n<li>Small Beer Press <a href=\"http:\/\/lcrw.net\/special.htm\">is having a sale<\/a>! And 20% of the proceeds of this sale will be donated to Barack Obama&#8217;s campaign!
