It&#8217;s an interesting idea, though.<\/li>\n<li>Ann Hornaday on George Lucas <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2008\/08\/07\/AR2008080701846.html\">and why he&#8217;s a bad storyteller<\/a>:<br \/>\n<blockquote><p>Although the difference between plot and story may seem arcane, it&#8217;s quite crucial: The plot is merely a sequence of events, whereas a story limns those events&#8217; deeper motivation and meaning. The plot gets characters from point A to point B; the story makes us care.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>She&#8217;s not wrong.<\/li>\n<li>Another reason why <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cynical-c.com\/?p=11212\">fast food is bad for you<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ve been working on an update of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unreality.net\/kaleidotrope\/\">Kaleidotrope<\/a> submission guidelines (along with the whole site, actually), and I&#8217;m thinking of adding a caveat along the lines of &#8220;Why I don&#8217;t want to hate your story but probably will&#8230;&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.defectiveyeti.com\/archives\/002577.html\">Matthew Baldwin<\/a> almost makes me want to <em>use<\/em> my Twitter account. I particularly liked this &#8220;recent tweet&#8221; of his:<br \/>\n<blockquote><p>War in Afghanistan, rising US \/ Russia tensions.
