Who&#8217;s in charge of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scifi.com\/scifiwire\/index.php?id=47590\">naming these things<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>Oh, wait. Apparently, that was <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/For_Your_Eyes_Only#.27Quantum_of_Solace.27\">Ian Fleming&#8217;s original title<\/a>. It&#8217;s one of the short stories in his collection <i>For Your Eyes Only<\/i>. According to the Sci Fi Wire, the new movie &#8220;picks up where 2006&#8217;s <i>Casino Royale<\/i> left off,&#8221; but that doesn&#8217;t seem possible if they&#8217;re actually adapting the story &#8212; which, according to Wikipedia, &#8220;is not a spy story and Bond appears only in the background.&#8221; If they&#8217;re <i>not<\/i> adapting it, and they&#8217;re just adopting the next available name in the Bond franchise &#8212; after skipping over six other novels that have already been adapted&#8230;well, why bother? If you&#8217;re coming up with a new plot, and it&#8217;s <i>Quantum of Solace<\/i> in title only, why not just come up with a new and better title altogether?<\/p>\n<p>Maybe it&#8217;s just me, but <i>Quantum of Solace<\/i> seems sort of lame.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Quantum of Solace?
