However, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Pushcart-Prize-XXXII-Small-Presses\/dp\/1888889462\/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1196699887&#038;sr=8-1\">if Amazon.com is to be believed<\/a>, the book with this year&#8217;s selections will be available on December 10. That seems like an awfully unlikely turn-around time to me, suggesting that the final table of contents was set long before the nomination deadline. In fact, Amazon is already listing the book as in stock. I don&#8217;t see how a nomination that reached Pushcart on December 1 has <i>any<\/i> shot at making the final cut, quite frankly.<\/p>\n<p>Which is something I wish I&#8217;d known when I made my own six nominations last month.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Can someone explain this?
