Okay, so shouldn’t “full screen” actually mean<\/i> full screen — and not, y’know, just most<\/i> of the screen (and with very large, distracting advertisements on the rest of it, no less)? And wouldn’t it be nice if it stayed<\/i> in full screen mode when it went to commercial, or at the very least switched back<\/i> to it on its own?<\/p>\n

So the online player leaves a lot to be desired, but how about the show<\/a>? Meh. I found it pretty underwhelming, actually. I didn’t have quite<\/i> the same reaction to it that Abigail Nussbaum did<\/a>, but she’s not wrong about the lip service paid to female empowerment, even while that very empowerment is being cut off at the knees. <\/p>\n

I think I’ll keep watching for now. A pilot, even one for a show not as notoriously troubled behind-the-scenes as this one, isn’t always the best judge of what’s to come. And I like both Michelle Ryan and Miguel Ferrer. But the show will need to work a lot harder than this to win me over.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
