Let the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anne_Rice#Amazon_incident\">Amazon.com backlash<\/a> begin anew.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I&#8217;ve only ever read <i>Interview with the Vampire<\/i>, so I can&#8217;t in all honesty comment on any of her later books. As I think I&#8217;ve said before, <i>Interview<\/i> itself wasn&#8217;t terrible, especially if you like that sort of thing, but for just a 300-400-page book, even that was a bit of a slog.<\/p>\n<p>What I find interesting is what seems to be an increasingly antagonistic relationship between Rice and her fans. Some authors adore their fans; some look upon them as a necessary evil.
